Frequently asked questions
What is an llms.txt file?
It's a text file at the root of your site (yourdomain.com/llms.txt) that gives AI a curated map of your content: your name, a summary, and links to your important pages. It helps ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity understand your business better.
Is it required for AI to read me?
It's not required, but it helps. AI can read your site without it, but a good llms.txt makes it easy for them to find and understand what matters, instead of guessing.
How is it different from robots.txt?
robots.txt tells bots what they can and can't read (permissions). llms.txt goes a step further: it offers a summary and a curated list of your best content so they can make the most of it.
Where does the file go?
At the root of your domain, reachable at yourdomain.com/llms.txt, served as plain text (not an HTML page). Optionally you can also have /llms-full.txt with all your content.
Do you store my site or email?
No. The tool is single-use: we fetch your llms.txt on the spot, show you the result, and store nothing. We don't ask for an email.
